Athlete’s foot requires an antifungal agent to treat it. Lamisil® AT Cream’s active ingredient – the fungicide terbinafine – fights the infection by preventing further growth of the fungus, and then killing it off.
Lamisil® AT Cream’s gentle formula also cares for irritated skin caused by the infection, so you treat your athlete’s foot and get added relief of symptoms like itching and burning. Flexible application is also a plus: you can apply Lamisil® AT Cream directly to the areas needing treatment. And since it contains no alcohol, the cream won’t dry out your already sensitive feet.

1. Athletes Foot
What is Athlete's Foot?
Athlete's foot is one of those irritating skin problems that just seem to appear and then stubbornly refuse to go away. Treated effectively though it doesn't have to hang around for long.
Athlete's foot is a common fungal infection of the skin, typically appearing between the toes but also on the soles and sides of the feet. Lots of us get it, in fact as many as 1 in 4 people will suffer at some point.
Who gets Athlete's Foot?
Active people, for instance, who take part in sports can be more susceptible, as well as those who work in warm, damp environments.
How does the infection occur?
The infection and its symptoms are caused by a contagious fungus that thrives in warm, moist environments. The fungus can be picked up easily, for instance by walking through a communal shower or changing room at the swimming pool, gym or sports hall. In fact, any place where people walk barefoot can be a source of infection.
What are the symptoms of Athlete's Foot?
The most irritating symptom of athlete's foot is itchy feet, but if left untreated the skin may start to flake or become cracked and painful. Occasionally it may become infected with bacteria, which you notice by an unpleasant odour.
It is important to check your feet regularly because, despite the name, anyone can get athlete's foot and it's actually quite common. Some people leave their athlete's foot alone in the hope that it may vanish, but unfortunately without proper treatment this is not likely to be the case.
How is Athlete's Foot treated?
Treating athlete's foot isn't difficult and before long the worst symptoms, such as itching and soreness, can disappear. But importantly you must complete the course of treatment to clear the infection and then take preventive measures to avoid re-infection at a later date.
How does Lamisil Athlete's Foot cream work?
Lamisil AT cream is an effective, clinically proven and easy-to-use treatment and prevention application for athlete's foot. Lamisil AT contains an anti-fungal agent called Terbinafine Hydrochloride that works reliably and quickly to inhibit the growth of the fungus enabling the skin to repair itself and return to its original, pre-infected state. Terbinafine Hydrochloride also has anti-bacterial properties, giving the secondary benefit of helping to reduce foot odour, as bacteria can cause the feet to smell. Lamisil AT cream should be applied to the infected area 2 or 3 times a day and gently rubbed in.
2. Jock Itch
What is Jock Itch?
Jock itch (tinea cruris), is a fungal infection of the skin in the groin that causes a scaly, red-brown patch accompanied by an itching, burning sensation. It is caused by the same fungus that causes athlete's foot.
Who gets Jock itch?
Anyone can get jock itch although it is more common in men. The fungus grows in a warm, moist environment so activities that enhance this type of environment may lead to the infection, for example wearing sweaty or wet clothing for prolonged periods in the summer.
How does it occur?
Various factors can cause jock itch including:
Warmth, moisture and friction between skin folds
If you have another fungal infection such as athlete's foot, the infection may spread to the groin area via clothing or contact.
Wearing tight clothes which can increase sweating may aggravate the problem.
What are the symptoms of Jock Itch?
Jock itch appears as a red, itchy rash in the creases of the groin. The rash may advance down to the inner thighs and as the rash advances it may appear redder and more raised as well as scaly.
How do you treat Jock Itch?
The infection can be treated using a cream such as Lamisil Cream. Lamisil Cream contains a powerful anti-fungal agent which is proven to treat the infection.
Ok, once Lamisil has cleared up the infection how do I prevent re-infection?
Wearing loose fitting clothing and underwear will help stop the infection from re-occurring. You should avoid sharing clothes, towels or washcloths as the infection can be carried on items like these. Make sure you allow the skin to dry completely before dressing.
How to apply it
To begin treating yur athlete’s foot, wash your feet with warm water and a mild soap. Afterwards, dry them off gently. Put a small amount of Lamisil® AT Cream on your finger. Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected areas on one foot and to the immediately surrounding areas. Repeat this procedure on the other foot – even if you only have symptoms on one.
For the simple kind of athlete’s foot that occurs between the toes, you need to apply Lamisil® AT Cream once a day for one week.
Remember to thoroughly wash your hands after applying treatment – this way you avoid infecting another part of your body with the fungus.

Clean and dry the affected area of skin thoroughly before applying the cream.
Wash your hands after application.
Avoid getting the cream in contact with the eyes. If it does accidentally enter the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Make sure you use this medicine regularly and complete the course as directed in the packet leaflet. It is important to complete the course, even if your symptoms have cleared up, otherwise there is a risk of the infection returning.
If there are no signs of improvement after two weeks, consult your doctor.
Not to be used in
When Breastfeeding
It is not recommended for children under 16 years old.
This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy. If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.
The safety of this medicine for use during pregnancy has not been established. It is not recommended for use in pregnancy, unless considered essential by your doctor. Seek medical advice from your doctor if you are pregnant.
This medicine may pass into breast milk. It should not be used by breastfeeding mothers. Infants should not be allowed to come into contact with any treated skin, including the breasts. Seek further medical advice from your doctor.
Side effects
Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. Just because a side effect is stated here does not mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect.
Occasionally, redness, itching or stinging of the skin at the site of application.
Rarely, allergic reactions such as a rash, blistering or hives at the site of application. Stop using this medicine if you think you are allergic to it.

How can this medicine affect other medicines?
