Feet and Nails

Our feet are one of the most important parts of our bodies.

The average person walks the equivalent of 10 times the circumference of the world in their lifetime, approximately 75,000 miles.

A foot contains a quarter of your body’s bones, with 26 bones (or technically 28!), 19 muscles and tendons, 33 joints and 107 ligaments! Each foots also hides approximately 250,000 sweat glands.

Our feet are rarely looked after enough in return for all of this hard work – they tend to be forgotten unless they hurt.

Toenails and fingernails may not seem to have very much purpose; however, they are a key part of our anatomy. They are our comparable body parts to birds’ claws and horses’ hooves – claws, hooves, hair and nails are all made out of keratin.

What we call a nail is actually a ‘nail unit’ in the scientific world – composing in simple terms of the nail plate, nail bed and the cuticle. At the base of the nail bed there is a matrix – this is responsible for producing the keratin which binds together to form the nail plate.

They are evolutionary and were developed to protect our fingers and toes – they also help provide support for the finger or toe pad, and help us balance our feet. They are now very helpful and used everyday in daily activities!

Therefore, it’s very important we look after our feet and nails and make sure they’re in tip top condition so they are fit for their day to day purpose!

ClearZal® BAC is an antimicrobial nail solution that kills 99.9% of the fungus, bacteria and viruses that may cause nail infections. This means it’s more effective than an antifungal agent alone as around 50% of nail infections are caused by bacteria, in which case an antifungal agent would be ineffective.

Formulated with a broad spectrum biocidal active, ClearZal® BAC also contains the conditioning properties of Aloe Vera.

ClearZal® BAC is ideal for use on toenails and fingernails, and can be used on any number of nails.

Because it is applied around the nail as opposed to on the nail, it can be used with all types of artificial nails, nail extensions and nail polish.

Each pack contains a 30ml bottle, a dedicated nail file and an information leaflet containing instructions for use.

ClearZal® BAC contains no Lacquer, Harsh Acids or Alcohols – therefore helping keep your nails in top condition.
