The
test requires a blood sample obtained safely and
simply from a finger prick using the sterile finger pricker contained
within the test kit. The sample is then posted in the pre-paid packaging provided to a laboratory
for analysis. Within about 10 days, you'll have your results.
The YORKTEST foodSCAN tests measure specific IgG antibodies to identify if you may be sensitive to diffent foods.
This unique food intolerance test is the quick way to determine whether or not your symptoms could be food related. It does not provide a list of different foods, but gives you a positive or negative result. If negative, then you can rule out food as the problem. If you are not completely sure that food is behind your symptoms, then this is a useful tool to be able to find out.

Allergies
Many experts agree that modern lifestyles have
contributed to the increase in the prevalence of allergies, with
key factors including pollution of the atmosphere, diets high in
fats and low in fruit and vegetables and warm, well insulated homes,
which encourage house dust mites. Another important factor may be
the lack of exposure to childhood diseases, which may cause our
immune systems to seek other agents to "attack"- i.e. allergens.
Allergic reactions can range in severity from common
cold like symptoms to life threatening anaphylactic shock. Sufferers may be unaware that allergies are triggering their
symptoms.
How likely am I to have an allergy?
You are more at risk of allergies if :
- You have parents with allergies, asthma,
eczema or hayfever
- You had childhood eczema.
- You have had any previous allergy reactions
or symptoms.
- Your doctor has diagnosed you with asthma,
eczema, hayfever or food
allergy.
What symptoms are associated with
allergies?
Symptoms that are associated with allergies
could include any of the following:
- Eczema
